ANN - 67% See AnnTaylor Sales as Above Average or Very Strong

We conducted a survey of AnnTaylor stores and found that 67% see store sales in November as "Above Average" or "Very Strong" while 64% see no excess inventory at stores. The only items mentioned at all as being in surplus supply were wool coats (likely due to warmer weather this fall) and Merino sweater dresses. 33% of respondents did not see the weakness in the U.S. housing market as harmful to AnnTaylor store sales. Another third of our respondents did believe that the weak housing market was hurting sales currently or would be soon. The final third was unsure of the impact on sales from housing.
