ANN - Dresses Top Sellers at Ann Taylor, 56% of Stores with Above Average/Very Strong Sales

At Ann Taylor stores recently surveyed nationwide, 56% of respondents said that sales were above average or very strong. Only 3% of stores responded that sales were below average. The weak housing market and economy were seen as detrimental to sales at 25% of stores and not a factor at 17% of stores, while 58% of respondents were unsure of the effect that it had on sales. Half of stores reported having excess inventory, primarily winter items and sweaters. Dresses are currently the top sellers at 28% of stores, while shoes, tops and pants were the highest selling items at 12% of stores each. The Paisley collection was mentioned as a great seller by multiple respondents.
