CBOU - Espresso Drinks Most Popular at Caribou Coffee; Drip Coffee Accounts for Nearly a Third of Sales According to Customers

We polled team members at Caribou Coffee locations nationwide about the stores’ best selling drinks, drip coffee sales and customers about their favorite drinks. According to team members, drinks from the Espresso menu are the most popular, accounting for 48% of the most popular drinks, with Lattes and White Chocolate Mochas specifically being the best sellers. Drinks from the Classic menu came in second (29%), with Coffee of the Day the most popular in that category. Wild drinks were third with 13% of the mentions and Cold drinks were fourth with 10%. Team members estimated that drip coffee sales made up over 15% of total sales in 64% of responses. An equal number (32%) said they made up 15-20% as made up over 20% of sales. However, customer answers indicate that they order plain drip coffee 29% of the time, indicating that perhaps the team members are underestimating their drip coffee sales. Customers responded that they order a specialty drink 65% of the time.
